Reclaimed Timber Staircase
This design was worked up in collaboration with the clients, an architect and myself. They wanted to use reclaimed timber and cited a website dedicated to amazing and unique staircases. The clients liked work by designer Piet Hein Eek, so this was also an influence on the eventual design. Ultimately, the brief was to come up with a design that was really striking.
I wanted to keep the finish as seamless as possible so no fixings or pins are visible and the timber was kiln dried before processing to avoid any nasty shrinkage and cracks once fitted.
